Frankenhooker at Plaza Atlanta

Got any money? Wanna date?

Last Tuesday I headed up to my favorite spot to check out Frankenhooker on the big screen. Once a month Splatter Cinema features a cult classic in 35mm. Tickets are cheap and the people and theater are awesome. You can even get your photo taken in a themed set-up to go along with the movie. Anywho, this flick has always been one of my favorites so I couldn't miss the chance to see it with other fans. Plaza has quickly became my home away from home. If you're a movie fan and near the Atlanta area you should definitely check out Plaza. They're always doing something fun. www.plazaatlanta.com/

Mixtape - Mizfit Tha Menace

Awhile back I met a guy on twitter under the name Mizfit Tha Menace aka @Horror_Himself. The fact that he's a fellow horror fan was what made me notice him, but his music is what really got my attention. I'm not usually a "rap" fan but I fell in love with Mizfit's sick lyrics. I guess you could say he is the first goth rapper I've ever encountered, definitely worth a listen.

You can check him out at horrorhimself.com

Lissa's Saturday Morning Cartoons

As I mentioned a few days ago, I'm going to try to update more often. Until recently my blog had been neglected since March. That being said, I'm bringing back one of my favorite posts- Lissa's Saturday Morning Cartoons. It's always fun seeing what I come across while searching for old toons on youtube. This week I thought I'd go with the first episode of Gargoyles.. Enjoy.

Karma's a BITCH, Courtney

Here's my second installment of my new segment, Karma is a BITCH. This character is one I absolutely adore, yet hate at the same time. Rose McGowan does an amazing job as the beautiful and heartless Courtney Shayne. She's described in the movie as "Satan in Heels" and definitely lives up to it.

Courtney from Jawbreaker

The movie begins with three teenage girls playing an innocent prank of one of their friends for her birthday. An innocent prank that goes terribly wrong. Courtney and her pals, Julie and Marcie sneak into Liz's room one morning before school and kidnap her. They stick a jawbreaker in her mouth and then tape it shut and tie her up, then put Liz in the trunk. After drving to their favorite breakfast spot, they get out of the car to surprise Liz only to find that she's dead from choking on the jawbreaker.

As if that's not bad enough, the girls get sucked into Courtney's master plan of trying to cover up Liz's death. They go home and put her body back in bed and act as if nothing ever happened. When Julie threatens to tell Courtney says, "One word and you perish". Julie is outcast and replaced by a geeky girl named Fern who overheard the girls talking about what happened to Liz. Apparently a makeover and popularity is supposed to be enough to make someone keep quiet about a murder.

Everything is going smoothly for Courtney. She has control, popularity, and is even voted prom queen. But all that is ruined when her speech is interrupted by a recording of her. Over the speakers the entire school hears "I killed Liz. I killed the teen dream. Deal with it". Julie had a recordable birthday card of Liz's in her hands the day they brought her body back home, and Courtney didn't realize it. Serves her right for being such a bitch. How's that for a yearbook photo, hunny?

Mixtape - Chiodos

Chiodos - Those Who Slay Together, Stay Together

Today's post is a track from Chiodos called Those Who Slay Together, Stay Together released on Octoboer 5, 2010 from the album titled Illuminaudio. I'd never really listened to much of this group's music until a friend of mine mentioned one of their songs. After a bit of listening I came across this one and my ghoulish little heart feel in love. After all, who can't appreciate lyrics about a zombie outbreak? Well, that's what my take on the song is. Check it out for yourself.

Coolduder

Today's post is kinda random, but I thought I would put up a video from one of my favorite youtuber's, Shawn C Phillips aka Coolduder. I found him online about a year ago and started watching his videos and befriended him on facebook. He's a pretty neat guy who has a shit ton of movies. He's always posting dvd updates and talking about his favorite films. He's also working on several films of his own. Check him out.

Here's the trailer for one of his films,
Assault of the Sasquatch.

My Room Rocks

Today I did a little work on my bedroom. Mainly just hanging up photos and artwork I bought at the convention Friday, along with some stuff I already had. Here's a peek...

This doesn't even scrape the surface of all the cool shit I have. I don't have the energy to photograph all my collectibles and dvd's. We'd be here all day! :P

Days of the Dead II: The Dead Walk

Yesterday I headed to Peachtree City to attend my first ever horror convention, Days of the Dead. I've been wanting to go to one of these for years now, just never had the time or money. But for the first time in months I had the weekend off, money to spare, and kids away at their grandparent's house. My main goal was to meet Sid Haig and Gary Busey, but in the process I met a ton of cool people, bought some amazing artwork, and got autographs from a few of my favorite actors. It was even better than I expected, and I'm pretty sure my panties are still wet from it today. Nerdgasm would be an understatement.

Chambers of Horror display.

Bill Moseley was the nicest celeb there,
next to Derek Mears.

I sat on Gary Busey's lap. It was magical.

This is getting blown up and framed with the picture he signed for me.

She was awesome.

 My kind of dance floor...

There were tons of badass costumes.
Next time I'm dressing up!

A Skateboarder's Birthday

Today my handsome little man turned 4 years old. It's crazy how time flies when you have children. Here lately he's been obssessed with Tony Hawk's Underground game on xbox. When I asked him what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday this year, I got this reply: "I wanna skapeboard birfday!" So that's exactly what he got! Along with tons of cool toys, skateboard ramps, a small Spiderman skateboard, new threads, and more. I spent way too much money, but what can I say- my kids are spoiled.

This is what he spends most of his time doing...

His badass skateboard cake.

I love this kid. :)

$3.99 Bin FTW!

Today I did some much needed dvd shopping. I started out buying Insidious, Legend, and The Woman at Wal-Mart and then I made my way to Hastings in Auburn. I was excited when I found a copy of May, although I hated paying 13 bucks for it. Still, I was content with my day's purchases. But then I came across the $3.99 bin and look what all I found...

Beyond Re-Animator
Hell of the Living Dead
I Drink Your Blood
Manhattan Baby
Rats

I'm pretty stoked about all my finds, they'll make a nice addition to my growing movie collection. Now my only problem is deciding what to watch first.

Happy Birthday, Eric!

That's right, it's Eric King's birthday. You may know him from his badass blog, Robocop's Sad Side. He's a pretty cool guy, so I strongly suggest you go follow his page and leave some love if you don't know him already. You can also find him on facebook- RobocopWept. Hope you have a great day, buddy!

Ghoul Looks Like a Lady

No work today or money to spend so my evening was consumed with playing in make-up. I did another skull design because those are my favorite. Thought I would share with you guys.
